Supporting Fair Trade.

Huntingdon received its certification as a Fairtrade town in April 2010.

Our churches fully support the Fairtrade movement. Buying items with the Fairtrade logo assures us that people who produce them are fairly treated and are rewarded for their labours. The Diocese of Ely, of which both churches are part also gained Fairtrade status in 2009.

In practice this means we are committed to using Fairtrade coffee and tea after services, meetings and in our hospitality. We also use Fairrade wine for communion.

We promote Fairtrade throughout the year but particularly during Fairtrade fortnight, that takes place in February/March.

Thanks to a generous grant from Huntingdon Town Council, Huntingdon has a Fairtrade Directory where you will find information on many shops, businesses and supporters of Fairtrade in Huntingdon.
